P (Pharmacy) medicines for self-selection, are you concerned? Why not?
This must be The Twilight Zone. It seems the Pharmacy Professional Body (R.P.S., or Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain) thinks it’s a good idea to allow open display of Pharmacy only medicines for self selection by the public. What could possibly go wrong? This is the body which claims to be the voice of professional leadership! Why not recommend letting people walk into the dispensary or consulting room and help themselves. Leading lambs to the slaughter more like.
Isn’t it about time the profession stood up and told these bodies to go back to Proxima Centauri where they have come from (or belong) and stop coming up with bad ideas? Don’t any of us have an idea of our own? It’s about time we grew a pair and told them all to get out of the way, leave the thinking and the work to those who do it every day, despite so many expressing their disillusionment with life in the profession?
Who is really representing the profession and taking us forward safely? Answers on a postcard please, before the profession is dismantled and relegated to obscurity for ever. Once the genie is out of the bottle, it won’t go back in!
The Pharmacists Defence Association (P.D.A.) are running a survey to gather support against this latest idiot idea, The survey runs until 2nd August. Make your voice heard or don’t complain when Pharmacy is dismantled. Have your say and get a good outcome – it’s your future that is heading down the tubes if you don’t.
